I am interested in finding out who is responsible for maintaining the
Current Periodicals Room at other academic libraries.
Ours presently falls under the Information Support Services
Department, which is under Public Services.  However, when I was at
Texas A&M the Current Periodicals Room was the responsibility of
Technical Services (it was originally under Circulation, but moved).
There is an interesting mix of technical and public services to
running a Current Periodicals Room - where does it fall in your
hierarchy?  And if you know why it was placed there, I'd like to hear
that too.  (We have done a quick search of the literature, but have
not found a lot on this subject.)
