Library Journal magazine is curious about the day to day observance of
copyright law in libraries. If you work in a library, we would appreciate
your taking a moment to answer the questions below. Though we would
appreciate some background on the type and size of library and department
you work in, we assure complete confidentiality, and welcome anonymous
answers. Thank you for your interest and cooperation.

1. Do you clearly understand what copyright law requires in your daily work?
2. Which area of copyright law do you find most problematic?
3. Do you need to know more about it? In which specific areas?
Inter-library loan, preservations copying, delivery of documents to
primary clientele, external document delivery, reserve collections,
general fair use.
4. Is there a clear copyright policy or guidelines in your library for all
staff to follow?
