Entry Level Jobs in Library Science

Please respond directly to Donald Schwartz:
Internet: donald_m_schwartz@mts.cc.wayne.edu
Bitnet: donald_m_schwartz@waynemts.bitnet

I am recent graduate of a Library Science program who would like to
start an electronic newsleter devoted to discussing the issues related to
getting an entry level job in the library field.

There are many interesting job postings on the Internet and Bitnet, but
the posters almost always want at least two years professional
experience. I would like to hear some advise from the potential employers
out there about what recent graduates can do to break into the field. I
would like to also hear from fresh graduates who have been successful in
breaking into the field. I will post a summary of the responses, in the
form of a newsletter, in the mailbox of all interested parties.

If you would like to send me some pearls of wisdom or you are a fellow
neophyte wishing to be on the newsletter mailing list, please send me a
message at:

Thank you,
Donald Schwartz, MSLS
