Subject: newspaper shelving
The American Antiquarian Society shelves its volumes and folders of
newspapers flat on roller shelves. The roller shelves make it easier
for us to retrieve and reshelve materials without harming them (or
us) too much. Shelving them flat is a better way to preserve the
collection. One of the aims of the Society is to collect original
materials printed before 1877 in the US, Canada and British West Indies
