Subject: Trouble ahead for BITNET?

"The 'Because It's Time Network' Hopes It Is Not Past Its Prime" is
the title of an article in the Sept.1, 1993 issue of the Chronicle
of Higher Education.  BITNET, which began in 1981, has seen its U.S.
membership decrease to about 550 as more and more institutions
switch to using only the Internet.
