                       HOW MUCH QUALITY CAN WE AFFORD?

                            Tuesday, June 29, 1993
                            9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
                    New Orleans Convention Center, Room 37

Vendor representatives from the book, serials, and OPAC communities will
discuss:
      1. How companies prioritize new development ideas and enhancements to
         established products;
      2. How vendors define quality in terms of market-ability and the level
         of meeting user needs;
      3. How much quality is feasible so that products are competitive while
         serving a broad user community with disparate needs;
      4. How libraries can communicate effectively with vendors and provide
         meaningful input into the development process.
