Subject: CC:DA TASK FORCE MEETING

The CC:DA Multiple Versions Guidelines Review Task Force
will meet at ALA annual on Friday, June 25, 2:00 - 5:30 PM at the
          Doubletree Hotel, Oak Alley Room.

The Task Force has reviewed the many comments submitted by
interested parties regarding the "Guidelines for Bibliographic
Description of Reproductions" and the accompanying "Implications
of Impliementation of ... ", both of which have been previously
accepted by CC:DA (Committee on Cataloging: Description and
          Access).

The intent of the Guidelines is to clarify how reproductions
should be cataloged, and in so doing, some needless duplication
of data elements are eliminated. The Implications document
discusses several aspects of recording and communicating
bibliographic and holdings information of reproductions. These
documents, in turn, were developed at the request of the Airlie
House Multiple Versions conference of several years ago.
