i am a overseas users for access ebsconet for 5 years, i have confronted
the same problems.  at first we didn't know ebsco is using the ibm
computer.  in 1991, we talked to our computer people.  they asked us to
use tn3270, which means if you are using ibm terminals, you will not
not have any problems; if your are not, tn3270, is a software to
support terminal emulation thru the telnet protocol to allow terminals
addressed screen management routines to interact with applications on
on an ibm host in a fashion similar to the interaction between the
ibm host and a 3270 family terminal.  hope this helps you to reach
ebsconet very quickly.
