Re: Deleting holdings in OCLC

UMCP libraries does cancel OCLC holdings when recataloging monographs to a
serial title. We find this to be beneficial when searching new materials to
be cataloged since our UMC symbol on the serial record only helps to
direct new material to the serial adds unit. This avoids cataloging a
new volume as a monograph when we have already decided to handle the title
as a serial.
