Thanks to everyone who replied to my query about this. Generally it seems
to be agreed that unnumbered series do not technically meet the AACR2
definition of a serial and therefore should not be catalogued as serials.
Indicating holdings would also be a problem. Jim Cole points out, however,
that ISBD (S) contains an e.g. illustrating the cataloguing of an
unnumbered series (in Appendix C of the 1988 rev. ed.
