Subject: color of library shelves

The University of North Dakota Library of the Health Sciences is in the
midst of planning a new building which will house the library, LRC and
student class rooms. We are looking at shelving, especially the colors
now and our architect is insistent on black shelves. It is not our first
choice, because there will be very little natural light in the building.
We are worried it will make the area gloomier than necessary and will also
show damage and dust more readily. If any of you have positive or
negative experiences with black shelving, please contact me directly.
Thanks for your assistance.
