Photocopying front covers Marcia Tuttle 17 Mar 1993 10:00 UTC

I just had to reply to Edward Vielmetti's suggestion that serials staff
xerox the front covers of each new journal issue received so that patrons
can read the tables of contents.

Are you serious? I think I will suggest this to my staff as an April
Fool's joke. To photocopy 6,000 titles x innumerable issues, then somehow
arrange them on a wall so that patrons could read them sounds like a big
waste of time and money.

Maybe that's why table of contents services are popular!

BTW, our current issue shelves allow journals to lie flat and can be
browsed easily.
