Subject: Problems with SERIALST headers

------------------------

The SERIALST editors have been receiving an inordinate amount of mail
lately with important information, such as the "from" line of the
original sender stripped out of the headers. I suspect (but am not
sure) that this may have something to do with a new mailer that was
recently installed here, and how this is interacting with incoming
LISTSERV (specifically SERIALST/SEREDIT mail).

The appropriate systems persons have been notified and we are hoping
that a fix will be found soon.

In the meantime, SOMEONE has been sending a direct request to
SERIALST, asking to be set to NOMAIL ... and we are unable to
identify the original sender of the message because of the header
info. being stripped out of some of the mail. This is a reminder
that such requests should be sent to: LISTSERV@UVMVM.UVM.EDU
and not to the list.

Apologies for the inconveniences.

Please remember to send LISTSERV requests to the listserv & not to the list.
