Hi. I got a question from one of my Japanese section staff colleagues here
about linking fields in serial records. (I work in the foreign section). We
are in the process of putting our serial holding records in our OPAC. We have
the OCLC manual in Japanese that lists examples/explains what is in the link-
ing fields (780/785 etc.); however, the wording/examples are not there for
merged with. Has anyone out there (I'm basically wanting to talk to an East
Asian cataloger) formulated such a note in Japanese and how would it read?
Also, could someone give me the e-mail address for the Committee on East
Asian Libraries of the Association for Asian Studies? Thanks. Please
respond directly to me at DWYNN@JPNNUCBA (Nagoya University of Commerce
and Business Administration) Sagamine, Nishin-cho, Aichi-ken, 470-01 Japan.

Thank-you! Debra Wynn
