Subject: Editing member input records
Within the serials cataloging unit at my institution we have a running debate
regarding editing of contributed records. Essentially the question boils down
to one of trust: do we assume that records (especially CONSER) can be used with
little editing, or should we assume that we must edit all records carefully?
Those that want to edit seem to be especially concerned about certain fields;
the 362 and date of coverage have generated the most debate.
Has this been an issue at other institutions? How has it been handled? All
