The following has been cross posted to several lists ...

---------
Those of you who attended the LC Cooperative Cataloging Discussion
Group at ALA's midwinter meeting may remember that it was announced
that several task groups had been formed to address various issues
connected with the future of cooperative cataloging. It was also
announced that the reports of these task groups would be posted on
COOPCAT, a list that addresses cooperative cataloging issues, so
that members of the library community could consider and respond to
their recommendations.

I promised at that same meeting to once again post instructions
about how to subscribe to this list so that those of you who wish to
follow this discussion and participate can easily do so. Ergo: To
subscribe, send a messge to the LISTSERV at NERVM (either
interactively or as a mail message). The text of the message should
be "subscribe coopcat [your full name]" (include neither
quotations or square brackets in the actual message).

You may send any questions about the list directly to either of the
two listowners, Carol Walton (carwalt@nervm.bitnet or
carwalt@nervm.nerdc.ufl.edu) or Willy Cromwell (cn.wic@Stanford or
cn.wic@forsythe.stanford.edu)
