Re: Back Runs of Daily Newspapers YOUMANS@WCUVAX1.BITNET 10 Nov 1992 18:49 UTC

We have approximately 50 newspapers that we store in public access shelving
using rails and the OBLIQUE hanging files. One full seven section stack is
devoted to this and we have two rows of rails. You don't say how long you
keep your papers and that might be more of a challenge than ours. We retain
until the microfilm replaces the paper, or for up to two years if no film is
received. Approximately a dozen locally published titles must be retained
in paper copy forever, or until we can afford to have them microfilmed. These
backfiles are retained in closed cabinets serviced by the Circulation staff,
but still on the OBLIQUE rail system.
