I was asked the other day, and have been asked before, if there are any
statements on the ethics of getting faculty to subscribe to journals for
libraries at the individual rate.  Does it get discussed in authoritative
print anywhere?  Does anyone know of a CITATION or two?

I've seen discussion of this topic on LISTSERVS, but I'm seeking a real
citation to a real document:  ALA, or a journal, or some similarly
authoritative source.
