The University of Florida is re-examining the way we gather statistics for
serials/periodicals and would appreciate some input from other libraries
about how they collect statistics.  UF makes a distinction between serials and
periodicals, counting all serials and ONLY bound periodicals as physical
volumes added to the collection.  Because budget cuts have caused us to
decrease binding activities, we know our ARL reported count does not include
the unbound periodicals added to the collection. How are other libraries
counting their serials/periodicals for ARL statistics?  Is there a formula
for translating issues received into physical volumes added to the collection?
