In response to Evelyn Shaevel, of ALA Publishing/Marketing Services:
It looks as though ALA wants to sell AACR2. Why not keep the copyright
but let anyone that would use it in a product use it at no cost?
I am no longer a member because of the price for ALA membership, the extreme
cost for going to national conferences, the far flung positions that ALA has
taken that have nothing to do with freedom of information, equal access, or
literacy. I call on ALA to allow free and open use of such products as AACR2.
