We have 2 libraries - academic & medical.  The staff in periodicals receiving
are also the staff who do all public service desk work, as well shelving (when
we can not get students to do it), shelfreading, & pulling for the bindery.
They spend 20-25% of their time doing periodicals check-in.  We have about
4500 titles at the academic library and 3000 at the medical library, with
4 academic staff and 3 medical doing the check-in.  Two of the academic staff
are also responsible for checking-in all non-periodical serials (for both
libraries) - approximately another 25% of their time.  About 4000 titles.
