Subject: RE: librarian who keeps professional journals

We do not route journals per se but like Thomas Jefferson U. we place people on
 a Current Awareness service and flag journals to have contents pages copied at
 Circulation and sent to the librarians. This seems to work well. Everyone can
keep abreast of topics and retrieve journals or even request specific articles
to be copied through document delivery. Occasionally our periodicals librarian
does issue an s.o.s. for a missing issue.
