In response to Genevieve Clay's query about the Chronicle of Higher
Education:  we have subscription problems, but not the one you describe.
Our issues generally arrive on Monday or Tuesday.  We buy three
subscriptions, and about 1/3 of the time, we only get two copies.  If
we send in a claim for the third copy, we then get three more copies of
that issue, about eight weeks later.  (If only we weren't so ethical,
we could claim every issue, and have five subscriptions.....)

(P.S. -- You've probably all seen it by now, but the 2/19/92 Chronicle
featured a front-page article on library budgets, which fingered serial
prices as a major culprit.  No surprises there.)
