NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES PROCEEDINGS Marcia Tuttle 10 Feb 1992 20:17 UTC

It has just come to my attention from our Zoology librarian that our
copies of the PROCEEDINGS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are coming late. One of her faculty members
has had reports/questions from colleagues "all over the world" about
an article in an issue we had not received. This has happened twice.
Our copies seem to come about 2-3 weeks after the date on the issue.

My question: Is this a local problem or a widespread problem? We have
a "new, efficient" campus mail system that appears to have slowed down
receipt of our mail by anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of
weeks. I'd like to document the problem. Thus...

Do you receive the PROCEEDINGS at approximately the date printed on
the issue (1st and 15th of each month)? Or, do you receive it a couple
of weeks later?

Please reply to me at: TUTTLE@UNC.BITNET. Many thanks for your help!
