       The RASD CODES Reference Collection Development and
Evaluation Committee invites you to "The Serials Killers", an open
forum at ALA Midwinter, Sunday, January 26, 11:30-12:30, Marriott
Riverwalk, Salon B.

       A panel of committee members will give brief presentations
and will lead a discussion on canceling reference periodical and
serial titles in public and academic libraries due to budgetary
constraints.  The forum will focus on the practical aspects of
selecting titles for cancellation.

       The Reference Collection Development and Evaluation
Committee is also surveying reference departments to determine
which periodical and serial titles (including duplicates) have already
been canceled due to fiscal constraints.  If you are interested in
participating in this survey, please bring your list to the forum or
