Of course, there's still the question of the PC and modem. Let's
face it, even if networking becomes as common as a loaf of bread,
will e-journals ever have the supermarket stand-in-line appeal of
something like People magazine?!
Of course they will -- there will be e-Peoples magazine. The latest
"usenet" to attract my attention was "alt.true.crime." Right now,
most of the discussion is "bibliographic" -- reading lists, defining
what the area of interest is. Sort of a collision between The
National Enquirer and postmodernism. When will this make it to
the ALA ? (oops, make that MLA !)
