For an article I am working on, I would like to know if there are academic
libraries in which a barcode is applied to each issue of incoming journals,
and then, when a patron has made use of a journal and not reshelved it, prior
to reshelving the journal it is given the wand treatment so that journals'
use information is gathered. My goal is to see if there are academic libraries
that capture use information for journals similar to the circulation informa-
tion that an automated circulation system captures for monographs.
