At UNC Greensboro the arrangement of periodicals is as follows:
1
-The most current issue is alphabetically arranged in the reading room
2-The unbound back issues are alphabetically arranged in the closed stacks
  adjacent and are paged from a service desk in the rr
3-Bound volumes are arranged by call number and intershelved with monographs
We believe that this arrangement is most helpful to the patron with current
citations from indexes and to those browsing the shelves in the stacks
Having used an alphabetical bound volume arrangement at another school, I
prefer the classified for ease in finding serials that have changed title
(Sorry if this is confusing--the period on my terminal is dead or dying)
