Re: Arrangement of Current Display Area Dennis 14 Nov 1991 20:15 UTC

Our current periodicals collection is arranged roughly by subject
then alphabetically by title. There is one large section (about
half of the titles) called "Nonscience," which includes, aside from
the obvious humanities and social sciences, titles in nursing and
computer science. The other sections are in the sciences: General
Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Math, Physics, and
Psychology. Our bound periodicals are shelved in one alphabet by
    title, separate from the books.

None of the Library staff likes the arrangement of the current
periodicals. We are maneuvering to rearrange them into one
alphabet. Our director has announced to the Faculty Senate our
intention to move to one alphabet. He expected to hear loud
opposition from the science faculty, but so far none has arisen.
