Serials textbook(s) John DePew 25 Oct 1991 14:47 UTC

I teach a course in serials management and am curious to know of a
current book (or books), if any, that serials practitioners would
recommend as a text for a serials course. I have used several
(which shall remain nameless) over the past years and would
appreciate any recommendations from those of you who are actually
in the field.

The course covers collection development, acquisitions, selection,
budgets and costs, check-in, cataloging and serials control,
preservation, housing, non-paper based formats, cooperative pro-
grams, union lists, ILL, reference, standards, automation,
management, among other things.

One text probably won't cover all these topics adequately, but if
any of you have a favorite title or titles, I'd appreciate the
information.
