Since you are a NOTIS user, your solution may be found with release 5.0.
You will be able to code the D/S field in the bibliographic record to
supress OPAC display. Then you can create bib and check-in records
(with the appropriate notes) for discard decisions. Our libraries found
this feature very useful when we brought up MHI for the OPAC last year.
