We have always received proforma invoices from Pergamon for titles we
order with vendors, so to us, it's nothing new.  Again, you have to be
very careful to check these notices thoroughly before paying. I do
recall we tried to cancel a series standing order and received credit
for pre-paid volumes not published yet, but we never heard back from
Pergamon. Perhaps the new ownership would consider changing this one
practice. I am not aware of Elsevier sending these kinds of renewal/
proforma/invoices.
