My colleague, Tim Sauer, Head of Acquisitions and Collections, tells me
that his innocence haslong since been destroyed w.r.t. believing reports
from agents handling serials subscriptions.  He's well aware of the ex-
istence of phoney invoices from publishers, he says, as only one of very
many problems in the serials 'field'.  But agents' words should not be
taken without the proverbial grain (grains?) of salt either...
