I am curious about Judy Schneider's question.  I guess the problem is I am
so used to dealing with NOTIS now that I am no longer familiar with other
systems.  I assume from her question that some systems are "ahead" of NOTIS
in that item records (presumably in MFHL) generate the holdings statement.
Is this true?  Which systems?

In NOTIS as I know it, the Volume Holdings Statement, the Current Issues
statement, and the item records are independent.  Each derives from
separately input information.  My understanding is that as NOTIS works
toward bindery control, this may change and that the statements derive
from the same source.
