We do not have any formal clauses concerning review in our contract but we
have never needed them. We write the contract relatively specifically so
that any violation of standards would be grounds for terminating the
contract if necessary *but* we have always found whichever bindery we
are dealing with (and we have had a few through the years due to our bid
system) has been responsive to telephone calls, complaints to the route
person, discussions with the delivery person, etc. We also make it clear
(in writing) that we have the right to bar unsatisfactory vendors from
bidding in future years--it is hard to tell whether the vendors are even
aware of this, much less if they take it into account, but it is a threat
to use should we ever need it.
