Probably can find out more info on this in DMM (Domestic Mail Manual)
and iin Postal Bulletin. Both are supposed to be available for public
inspection at a po, but you will have to ask someone higher up than a
typical window clerk for this (but the window clerk will call that person
for you). Our inside slots are normal here in Boise, but we have been
informed that the normal overnight express mail will only be guaranteed
next day for packages to one pound, instead of the normal two pounds.
Also ahve been told that since military mail has priority that other mail
may be delayed, particularly that of 2nd and 3rd and 4th class. Also have
been told not to send mail to "any serviceperson" any more. Also no
large pkgs to the gulf region, as they aren't equipped to handle it, and
as they want potentially mobile troops to have as little as possible to
carry in personal stuff. dan
