SERIALS CATALOGERS (two positions available): Social Sciences cataloger
(LC schedules H, J, K, L); Agriculture/Medical Topics (R, S). [Exact
subject coverage subject to negotiation especially for someone with
science/engineering background.]
12-month tenure track position. Benefits include 20 days vacation, 12 days
sick leave, state teachers retirement (mandatory), TIAA-CREF or other SRAs
(optional), standard health/life/disability insurance. Minimum salary
$25,000 a year; more for experience.
Reports to Head, Serials Dept., and coordinates through senior serials cataloger
with Cataloging Dept. Original and copy cataloging of serials, series, and
monographs in series. Supervises one support staff member performing DLC copy
cataloging, etc. Library has had NOTIS since 1984. Use AACRII rev., LC
classification and subject headings, OCLC, etc.
Require MLS and strong academic and communication skills. Prefer experience,
Western European languages, demonstrated supervisory and analytic skills,
ability to work unsupervised, etc. Must relate well to academics and the
goals of academic institutions.
