We do tattletape unbound issues, however there appears to be a problem
at present with our exit gate as if you fold the issue or put it inside
something else the alarm is not activated.  As a consequence we have
banned bags, briefcases etc. and told loans staff to check the contents
of any bags which are brought in as patrons try to leave.

I shall be interested in the discussion as I would like to know if
it is just our exit gate that is at fault or whether this is a common
problem with the 3M Tattletape system.  We also find that items passed
through the gate field shielded by the body, or at the wrong height do
not trigger the alarm.
