Hello Our decision several years ago was easy. The print is not being used and the electronic gets high use. Should you ever cancel, the access choices are a dvd or paying a platform fee. Even a dvd is a little bit faster access than print, although you might want to back it up. If you ever have space issues those print copies would be candidate for remote storage. best wishes Meg Mitchell Logue Library Chestnut Hill College Philadelphia, PA USA ________________________________ From: Serials in Libraries Discussion Forum [SERIALST@LISTSERV.NASIG.ORG] on behalf of Diane Westerfield [Diane.Westerfield@COLORADOCOLLEGE.EDU] Sent: Tuesday, October 27, 2015 4:59 PM To: SERIALST@LISTSERV.NASIG.ORG Subject: [SERIALST] APA journals and PsycARTICLES Thanks to everyone who answered my $3 question. Onto the next one: Our APA journals went up by roughly 9% in price from 2015 to 2016. Print-only format, and that’s the only format option available from the subscription agent. The electronic content for these titles is available in PsycARTICLES on EBSCOhost. I would normally treat PsycARTICLES as an aggregator but our 2007 signed license indicates perpetual access. I know that’s unusual for a database, but it’s right there in black and white. This leads me to want to knock the print APA journals off the annual renewal and rely solely on PsycARTICLES. Anybody else run into this? And if so, how did you proceed? We wouldn’t withdraw the bound volumes we already have, but we’d cancel the current subscriptions to the print.
