OSA Journal Portfolio Continues to Lead Optics Category in Total Citations and Articles in Thomson Reuters 2014 Journal Citation Reports

The Optical Society (OSA) is pleased to announce its full portfolio of journals again leads the Optics category in the total number of citations and total number of articles published according to the 2014 edition of the Journal Citation Reports® (JCR) (Thomson Reuters, 2014).This edition provides a combination of impact and influence metrics from 2013 data and shows that, in total, OSA published 34 percent of all articles in the Optics category, and its journals account for 41 percent of all citations.

Additionally, OSA’s journal Advances in Optics and Photonics debuted this year on the JCR list with an Impact Factor of 9.688—the second-highest Impact Factor of any other journal in the category.  Advances in Optics and Photonics publishes comprehensive review articles as well as multimedia tutorials that cover theoretical and experimental optics, along with applications of optics and photonics technology.

The Optical Society Launches Optica, New Open-Access Journal for Highest-Impact Research about the Science of Light

In July, OSA launched a new open-access, online-only journal dedicated to rapidly disseminating the highest-impact peer-reviewed research across the entire spectrum of optics and photonics, whether that research is theoretical or experimental, fundamental or applied.

OSA customers should update their records and journal listings. Additionally, counter stats are now available for Optica. Author processing charges will be waived for your patrons during the first year.
