Jennifer B Young 16 Jan 2012 16:34 UTC
Greetings Colleagues,
The ALCTS CRS Continuing Resources Cataloging Committee (CRCC) invites all catalogers & serialists to a Forum at ALA Midwinter in Dallas, TX on Monday, January 23, in Dallas Convention Center Room D168, from 1:30-3:30pm
There will be brief updates from representatives of the ISSN Center, the Library of Congress and CONSER Program, and CC:DA.
The rest of our Forum:
John Espley of VTLS will give a demonstration of continuing resources cataloging using a RDA/FRBR model. He will also demonstrate his idea of a "super work" and its implications for continuing resources cataloging.
Kevin M. Randall (Principal Serials Cataloger, Northwestern University Library; chair of the CC:DA Task Force on RDA Instructions for Governmental and Non-governmental Corporate Bodies) will bring attendees up to date on the work of the task force, in particular regarding matters of concern to serialists. With Adolfo Tarango (Head, UC Systemwide Collection Services and Head, UCSD Serials Cataloging; CRS Liaison to CC:DA) he will lead a group discussion of these and other RDA-related issues, with the objectives of informing the attendees, bringing information back to the task force, and determining if any ideas call for development of new proposals for RDA revision.
We hope you will be able to join us in Dallas!
