NASIG 26th Annual Conference: Last-Minute Reminders publicist 26 May 2011 15:43 UTC

Meet us in Saint Louis!
The Program Planning Committee and Conference Planning
Committee have been hard at work planning the conference
program and taking care of all of the local arrangements.
All that’s missing is you!
A few last minute reminders:
*Travel:
Travel information can be found on the conference website:
http://www.nasig.org/conference_travel.cfm

If you’re flying, we invite you to take MetroLink, Saint
Louis’ light rail system, from the airport to the hotel.
The red line will take you downtown to the Ballpark stop.
>From there, the hotel is a short walk away! For those who
are driving, self-park at the Stadium East garage across
from the conference hotel is $12/day. Valet parking at the
hotel is $25/day.

*Weather
Early summer in Saint Louis is often humid and rainy with
temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s. We encourage you to
bring an umbrella or rain coat for the times when you’ll
want to leave the hotel. Since the “dress code” for the
conference is casual, and conference rooms are often chilly,
dressing in layers is the way to go!

*Registration Desk:
The registration desk is located in the Grand Suites foyer,
located on the second floor of the conference hotel.

The desk will be open:
Wednesday (6/1): 12-5
Thursday (6/2)-Saturday (6/4): 7-5
Sunday (6/5): 7-1

*Opening reception:
The opening will be held at the City Museum which is about a
mile from the hotel, so please bring comfortable shoes for
the walk. The City Museum is filled with fun activities and
we encourage you to dress for activities like climbing and
going down slides.

There is an ADA transportation option for those who require
it and, for those who prefer not to walk, a trolley
circulates through downtown. Trolley stops are near both the
conference hotel and the City Museum and tickets may be
purchased on the trolley.

*It’s easy to be green!
We will not be giving away tote bags at this year’s
conference, sobring your own! You can also bring any totes
that you’d like to give away to your fellow conference
goers. You might also consider bringing a travel mug for
coffee.

*Local attractions:
Check out the Explore St. Louis section of the conference
website (http://www.nasig.org/conference_stlouis.cfm) to
learn more about the city. There are many fun things to do
in Saint Louis’ distinct neighborhoods, and we hope that
you’ll explore some of what the city has to offer!

*Follow us online!
For those of you who tweet, the conference hashtag is
#nasig11. You can also add the photos you take to NASIG’s
Flickr pool.

For anything else we might have missed, check the Frequently
Asked Questions page of the conference website
(http://www.nasig.org/conference_faq.cfm).
We look forward to seeing you June 2-5!
