In this time of turmoil for libraries, some Technical Services
librarians are building a foundation for the future.  Some study past
successes and failures to guide future decisions and actions. Others
apply current tools and concepts to reinvent existing services and to
create innovative new services more relevant to today’s information
environment. Finally, some are creating entirely new concepts and
paradigms that will help drive the future of libraries. The foundation
we are building will support a rebirth of function, form and purpose —
a Technical Services Renaissance.

Keynote speakers:

Susan Gibbons, Vice Provost and the Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly
Dean of the River Campus Libraries, University of Rochester

Program:
This year’s conference will cover a wide range of topics and issues –
from e-resources and metadata to marketing and management – in a
mixture of presentation formats, including lightning rounds, Birds of
a Feather, and the return of the Free For All Forum.  Program

We are also currently looking for opportunities to provide continuing
education/certification credits for library staff in Indiana, Kentucky
and Ohio. Future announcements regarding this will be posted on the
conference home page.

Registration:
Registration will be open until Friday, April 1st, 2011. Registration
costs for this year are as follows:

•	Regular full Conference (includes membership dues and meals) - $110
•	Support Staff Full Conference (includes membership dues and meals) - $85
•	Student Full Conference (includes membership dues and meals) - $50
•	One Day Monday (includes meals) - $55
•	One Day Tuesday (includes meals) - $55
•	Guest Reception Attendance - $25
•	Guest Thursday Dinner Attendance - $25
•	Membership Only - $10

This year people have a choice of paying by check or online (a small

Accommodations:
This year’s conference lodging is at the Miami Inn and Marcum
Conference Center. We have two room rates for the conference:

•	Double twin beds and single full bed rooms: $79 (+ taxes)
•	All other rooms (King and Queen beds): $94 (+ taxes)

Library School Students:
The Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians awards three
scholarships every year to attend the organization’s annual
conference. Any full or part-time student enrolled in either on-campus
or distance learning courses at an ALA-accredited library and
information science school in Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio is eligible to
apply. The scholarship covers the expense of conference registration
and lodging for two nights. More information and application details
