We piggyback on the print bib record when there is one.  (I should say that we use Ebsco's A-to-Z for loading MARC records and work
to get them to overlay on the former print bib records every month.  We've got it down to fewer and fewer duplicates to clean up
every month, though at first, it was a lot of work.).

We start a new order record.  If you're completely getting rid of print and switching to online only, you could probably change the
vendor, location code, format, etc. and use the same order record.  But if you're hanging on to any print -- or continuing to
receive print, you should have 2 separate order records.

Also, FYI, when we did this on a large scale, our subscription agent (Ebsco) helped us a lot by providing a list of titles we were
getting in print that were available as online only or print + online subscriptions.  It took a while to study the list and
understand it -- and to get the right list from Ebsco, but once we did, it made life a lot easier.

We are beginning to switch more of our print journal titles to online and n=
eed to come up with coherent procedures for making the change.  I would be =
interested in hearing from others about how they do this.

Do you catalog the new format as a new title, or do you use the existing bi=
bliographic record?  Do you close the order for the print title and create =
a new order for the online version, or do you adapt the print order record =
to reflect the new situation?
