Librarian (2)- Electronic Resources Librarian

General Summary:
The Librarian (2) Electronic Resources Librarian will report to the Associate Director for Collections & Scholarly Resources and coordinate the identification, evaluation, purchasing, implementation and renewal of the libraries' electronic resources. This individual will coordinate the processing and ongoing maintenance through the life-cycle of each resource. The Librarian (2) will facilitate communication between bibliographers, staff in other library departments, faculty and students.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the identification, evaluation, purchasing, implementation and renewal of electronic resources in support of DePaul's academic programs and mission. Collaborate closely with the Collection Development Coordinator and the subject bibliographers to assess and shape the libraries' collections to most efficiently and effectively provide a full complement of content in all formats.
* Identify and test electronic resources, including both subscription/purchase and open access titles. Work with vendors to set up trials, obtain licenses and pricing information.
* Conduct preliminary reviews of licenses before referring them to the Associate Director of Budget and Administrative Services.
* Coordinate the processing and ongoing maintenance of the electronic resources collection through the life cycle of each resource. Coordinate resolution of electronic resource access problems, including security breach situations, with appropriate staff, and vendors, and DePaul's Information Services Division.
* Facilitate communication between subject bibliographers, staff in other library departments, the Law Library, and faculty and students regarding issues such as trials, new electronic resources and platform changes. Work with the Library Marketing Team to promote electronic resources.
* Work across departments in the Collections and Scholarly Resources Division and with the Access Services Coordinator, the Serials &Acquisitions Coordinator, and the Collection Development Coordinator to optimize use of next-generation library management systems and to manage workflows across the Collections and Scholarly Resources Division. When appropriate, liaise with members of the Metadata and Digital Library Services Division and/or vendors to resolve issues with library management systems.
* Collect statistics and compile usage reports. Evaluate existing electronic resources to assess usage patterns and appropriateness to DePaul's programs and make recommendations for retention or cancellation.
* Work with the Access Services Coordinator and help provide leadership in developing and promoting interlibrary loan, document delivery, course reserves and other resource sharing services.
* Work with the Copyright/ILL/Reserves and other appropriate library staff to resolve copyright issues. Confer with Office of the General Counsel on occasions which need legal interpretation of copyright law.
* Serve as a subject bibliographer for one or more subject areas and as library/faculty liaison.
Requirements:
* MLIS from an ALA accredited institution.
* Familiarity with integrated library systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong service orientation.
* Ability to understand, develop and follow complex workflows.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
* Travel between DePaul campuses, as required.
Preferred Requirements:
2-4 years experience working with library electronic resources.
