Re: Advice on moving titles from print to electronic Lisa A. Ladd 08 Oct 2010 15:16 UTC

Our library has been gradually going electronic for several years.

Our criteria for going electronic only for the most part is:

Does it have perpetual access? Is it archived in Portico or JStor?

If it is bundled in a package, can we swap or cancel titles that are low use?

Is the electronic resource reliable, and are the graphics equal to the print edition? (many of our geological titles we have kept because the graphics/maps are inadequate in the web version).

We basically review our print titles each year before our cancellation deadlines, to see if more have gone electronic, or if the electronic is now a better product.

Good Luck!
