The Mary and Jeff Bell Library at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi
(http://rattler.tamucc.edu) announce the following vacancy for a
Reference/Information Literacy Librarian position.
Participates in the provision of reference service to library users
on-site and at a distance. Delivers general and course-specific library
instruction using a variety of technologies, tools, and resources. Serves
as a subject liaison to one or more disciplines/programs, with
responsibility for collection development and course-specific library
instruction sessions. Serves on Library and University committees.
Develops and maintains user aids in print and electronic formats. May be
required to work some evening and/or weekend hours. Performs other duties
as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: Must complete MLS or equivalent from an ALA accredited program
on or before August 20, 2010. At least 1-2 years experience in an
academic library in a public services capacity. Excellent written and
oral communication skills; demonstrated strong commitment to
library-customer focused services. Ability to work independently and as a
member of a team in a rapidly changing, demanding, and culturally diverse
environment. Additional Desired Qualifications: Subject Master's degree.
Knowledge of reference resources in print and electronic formats.
Experience in the provision of reference service to distance education
students. Experience with non-traditional and/or first-generation college
students. Experience in teaching or information literacy instruction.
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
