Our retention schedule depends on the material. We have some titles that we keep the latest year or two only, unbound, and discard them when the online is complete. We also have materials that are keep latest only, because their historical relavance is minimal, versus the shelf space they take up, or they are completely updated each time a volume is issued.
We are currently going through a weed of our JSTOR titles, and a caveat to keep in mind. . .some titles graphics are not that clear in JSTOR, so if it is a title where the graphics may be important, do some spot checking of different volumes, looking at the print then the online.
We follow the moving wall in terms of other titles in JSTOR, only discarding material when it is completely available online.
