Research Request: Survey on Checking Online Journal Access - Deadline May 15 Andrea Imre 01 May 2009 15:36 UTC

**Please excuse cross-posting****

You are invited to participate in a research study focused on checking
access to subscribed online journals. Participation is voluntary and
open to anyone affiliated with a library who deals with maintaining
access to online journals.

In the past, print issues arrived at the library and the staff had an
option to keep track of received issues, claim missed issues, and
generally verify which issues of what subscribed journals were available
to library users. With online journals many libraries only check online
journal accessibility in response to problems as they arise. Others
have decided to create some internal method for systematically checking
access rather than relying on library users to alert them to problems.
Our survey gathers data on current library practices and expectations
about developing standards that may improve library processes. The
results of this survey will be presented at the NASIG 2009 conference in
Asheville, NC.

This survey is confidential and the record kept of your survey responses
does not contain any identifying information about you. It should take
about 15-20 minutes to complete. Completion of the survey constitutes
voluntary consent to participate in the study. The survey will close on
May 15, 2009.
