Re: tokens for serials van Sickle, Jennifer 09 Apr 2009 15:26 UTC

We cancelled some (but not all) Elsevier titles and started to offer pay
per view for faculty. The library pays via a deposit account. This has
run quite well with few glitches.

Hi Matt,

A few years ago, we cancelled all of our Elsevier subscriptions and now
offer access to articles in ScienceDirect via pay-per-view. The library
subsidizes the costs. I'll be talking about this in a panel
presentation at NASIG in Asheville.

But I'm not sure what you mean by a "token system". Will you please
define?

Has anyone canceled serials subscriptions and gone with the new
pay-per-view token system
which some publishers offer, and if so, can you share how this is
working for you?

Thanks,
Matt
